About Walrath Law LLC

Attorney Monica Walrath has been practicing law for more than fifteen years in both the private sector as well as the public sector. This provides her with a well-rounded perspective on a number of issues. Attorney Walrath has many years of civil litigation. Prior to working with a county government agency, Attorney Walrath learned extensive litigation skills in medical malpractice litigation, land use litigation and small claims litigation. While working in the public sector, she practiced in juvenile law, mental health law, guardianships, child support enforcement, land use regulation, environment health regulation, collections, and appellate law.

While in law school, she published an article for the Elder Law Journal and has recently become involved in elder abuse and advance planning cases realizing that there is a growing need to provide protective legal services to a segment of the community that can get easily overlooked. Attorney Walrath also handles landlord tenant law, injunctions for domestic abuse, child abuse and elder abuse.

With her years of experience in juvenile law, paternity establishment and child support enforcement, Attorney Walrath gained a wealth of knowledge in how families that are going through the court system need someone who not only advocates on behalf of the party, but also provides a clear explanation of the processes and the possible outcomes. In doing so, Attorney Walrath prepares her clients for every step of the way and prevents her clients from walking out of a courtroom with unanswered questions. Attorney Walrath also serves as a court-appointed attorney in probate and family law.

Attorney Walrath spends her free time with her family traveling and enjoying the outdoors. Her family is involved with volunteering at Irish Fest each year and her children participate in Irish dance, soccer and music of all types. Attorney Walrath has served on the board of directors for her daughter’s dance school, acted as judge in local mock trial competitions and supports a local SkillsUSA program.

With balancing the needs of her family and her legal practice, Attorney Walrath has a keen understanding for her clients who are just as busy and as a result, she has a flexible schedule and will work with her clients outside of normal business hours.
